I'm always up for trying something new. Does that mean I'll go bungee jumping anytime soon? Probably not, but if I was 30 I might. They say the best way to get over a fear is to do the thing you fear the most.
Fear of heights? Yep! That's why the bungee jumping is out. When I was a kid, my brother would push me on the swings at our elementary school in Marysville, KS. He would push me so high that I thought I would fall out of the swing. I love the thrill but ultimately felt like I was losing control of my own body in that swing. These were the old-fashioned swings with the chains and the wooden seats. I wish I could find some swings like that now. I'd do it all over again if only he was here.
Why is it that I can remember those days back in elementary school so vividly and don't remember what I did yesterday? Scary, isn't it?
Had a great conversation with my cousin today. It's always good to catch up with him. His son is coming home from Afghanistan in a couple of weeks. We have all prayed for his safety and that of all of our fighting men and women around the world. We keep the prayers of thanksgiving going - gratitude to God and Guardian Angels.
Better get back to cleaning the house. This was a nice break. Here's today's picture. Barely got this because Blake hated to have his picture taken back then. Now he's almost 14 and kinda digs it.
