Ever wondered why people put such high expectations on each other? Has anyone ever depended upon you for their happiness? Did you agree with that? Has anyone ever put you on a pedestal or said, "I just couldn't live without you?" or "Without you, I'd be nothing."
Those or similar expectations are pretty hard to live up to, aren't they? In one way, we feel flattered, but if you look at what lies underneath, you might see that the person who spoke those words might just be a little too needy. Might be a little too dependent on someone else for their own happiness.
Do you feel like you're "enough" just the way you are? I really, really hope so, because you are. We all are. We are who we are for a reason.
The reason I wrote on this subject today is that I have seemed to always have someone in my life who said, "I couldn't make it without you." And I know now that it isn't true. They all made it just fine. Why? Because they chose to.
I am enough ... just the way I am. And so we ALL are. Does that mean we stop growing and learning? No, but we do that for ourselves; not for another.
Namaste!
