Sentinel of the Desert

Hot here today.  We're not ready for the 90's yet.  At least I'm not.  That will happen soon enough in the desert Southwest.

Spring is here and things are really blooming out after the hard freeze we had.  It was the worst one in 55 years.  Some things in our yard will never come back.  They're extinct now.  So sad!

The one thing about the desert that's a constant is the stately Saguaro.  I call them the Sentinels of the Desert.  When all else blooms and fades away, the mighty Saguaro stands tall.

Today's picture is one of my favorites.  Most of the time, the Saguaro's limbs reach for the sky.  This one got a bit jumbled and wound up in a state of confusion.  The limbs at the bottom are skewed . . . kind of like most of us humans.  Ha!
