For Dummies

There are so many books on photography - from the beginner's primer to the more advanced.  It boggles the mind, but one thing is for sure.  If you want a step-by-step guide to using a digital SLR and taking some really good pictures, this book is the one. 

All of the "Dummies" books are good.  I have several of them and they beat anything else out there for ease of use and clarity.  The index is great.  Sure makes subjects easy to find. 

The "Dummies" books are all written by different writers, but each is proficient at their craft.  They have to be or they wouldn't be accepted into the inner circle of dummies.  Ha!  I know, that was pretty corny.

Amazon usually has the best prices on these kinds of books and you can get them used for quite a discount.  Barnes & Noble has the same titles and I believe they're pretty competitive with Amazon
