On a daily basis, I'm bombarded with advertisements for making money on the Internet. Well, I don't know about you but I just don't believe the claims that I can make $118,297 in just two days. Maybe there are folks out there doing it, but if so, why are they trying to sell me their system? Duh! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
Here's my philosophy - give people something they need and want and you're going to make some money - but make it something of value.
Of course we all want to make more money, especially in this economy. And we're all responsible for taking care of our families, ourselves and others (whoever we choose to help). But don't send me some hip, slick and cool sales letter that promises and even guarantees that if I buy your "system" I'm going to be a millionaire in a week.
The truth is this ... find yourself a business that gives something of value to your audience. Build relationships! People don't really follow someone hiding behind a sales page on a website.
Personally I chose network marketing because of the business model and the fact that it's always based on people helping people; not some faceless website. And I love the one I'm part of because I don't have to sell any products; no lotions, pills, juice or soaps.
Oh, and since I'm on the subject, leaders are readers. No doubt about it. So become a leader first; read all you can about a subject that you're passionate about and then get into THAT business if you want to make more money.
